We're diving into the world of Fintech IoT and exploring the vital role of reliability. Joining us is Thai Nguyen, a Technical Leader at our company with over eight years of experience. To kick things off, Thai, could you tell us a bit about yourself and your journey at STYL Solution?

Certainly. I initially joined STYL a few years ago but left temporarily for personal reasons. During my absence, I explored different workplaces and realized that STYL's culture resonated with me, offering the comfort and passion I seek in my job, and ultimately leading to my return.

 In my role as a Technical Leader, my primary responsibility is developing and maintaining back-end server software to facilitate seamless client-server communication. I've been involved in several projects at the company, with a particular focus on the Caribbean project, which I started on when I joined and continue to work on.

Now, Thai, you're currently working on an exciting project - the Caribbean project. Could you give our listeners a brief overview of what it entails and how reliability plays a role in it? 

Certainly, the Caribbean project is an F&B (Food and Beverage) services project for both educational institutions and businesses. We play the role of a provider, offering solutions to assist our customers in deploying their F&B services to their end-users. 

The Caribbean project is aimed at creating a centralized digital system to facilitate seamless financial transactions across the region. The system supports connecting and payment with the 3rd Payment Gateways and an Internal eWallet for Cashless strategies. 

Therefore, reliability is crucial here because we're dealing with a vast network of interconnected systems. Any breakdown or delay can disrupt the entire ecosystem, so ensuring reliability is our top priority. We have rigorous testing processes, redundancy built into our infrastructure, and a dedicated team monitoring the system around the clock. Plus, clear communication and collaboration with colleagues are essential to ensure everyone is on the same page regarding reliability goals. 

What makes STYL such an exciting place to be?

Firstly, it's the friendly and supportive atmosphere. Everyone here is cheerful and open, always ready to help each other. I appreciate the fantastic support I've received from my colleagues in Vietnam and Singapore.

Reliability in Fintech IoT means consistently delivering secure and error-free solutions. It aligns perfectly with our core values because, in this industry, trust is paramount. Clients and partners rely on our systems to handle sensitive financial data, and any hiccup could have significant consequences.

Thai, reliability is not just about systems; it's also about individuals. Can you share some personal experiences or moments in your career that have highlighted your commitment to reliability?

I've learned that reliability goes beyond code. It's about setting high standards for myself and my work, consistently meeting deadlines, and being accountable. 

In all of these experiences, my commitment to reliability was demonstrated through consistent efforts to meet commitments, ensure data integrity, provide dependable support, implement quality assurance measures, and maintain the uptime of critical systems. These experiences have reinforced the importance of reliability in my career and underscored its value in ensuring the success and trust of both colleagues and clients.

Could you share an example of a time when you had to balance the need for speed and efficiency with the requirement for reliability in a project?

In the Caribbean project, we face the challenge of onboarding new customers, often coinciding with the school year's start. This requires balancing specific new customer requirements and supporting existing customers as they prepare for the upcoming academic year.

To ensure reliability, we initially prioritize core functionality and security for onboarding, meeting immediate deadlines. After successful launches, we optimize efficiency while maintaining reliability through rigorous testing and monitoring.

This approach enables us to effectively handle both new and existing customer needs during this crucial period while upholding service reliability.
